Corey Stewart Reveals Winner of AR-15 Fundraiser Contest
The winner is described only as a Navy veteran from Woodbridge. Stewart, a Republican candidate for governor, began the endeavor last month.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Midway through last month, Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart, who's also a Republican candidate for governor, announced a unique fundraising tool in his bid to claim the state's highest office.
Namely, this: ""Giving Away an AR-15 for Christmas," he said on the campaign flyer, which included suggestions for cash donation amounts to enter the contest.
Well, Friday he announced the winner. Only he didn't. Well, he did but he didn't.

The AR-15 is the nation's most popular rifle. Gun-control advocates long have sought restrictions on the weapon, while the National Rifle Association has long defended it. The weapon has been used in several mass shootings both in the United States and elsewhere.
Stewart was President-elect Donald Trump's Virginia campaign chairman until being fired in October following a protest stunt outside Republican National Committee headquarters in D.C.
