Fight With Employee Lands Pizza Place Manager in Jail (ICYMI)

A manager at a Dumfries-area pizza place is in jail after arguing with an employee Monday night and holding a knife to his neck, Prince William County police said.

Joseph Daprile, 37, of 14512 Duran Drive in Dale City, has been charged with attempted malicious wounding and abduction, according to a police report. He’s being held without bond in the Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail, and his next date in court is scheduled for May 6.

At 9 p.m. Monday, officers responded to Vocelli’s Pizza at 16693 River Ridge Blvd. to investigate a report of an assault, the police report said. The victim, a 30-year-old Woodbridge man, told police that he was a Vocelli’s employee and got into an argument with his manager, identified as Daprile.

The argument escalated and during the encounter, Daprile pushed the victim against a door and held a knife against his neck, police said.

Minor injuries were reported, police said, and following the investigation, Daprile was arrested.
