'Green' Grocery Store Coming to Woodbridge: Media Report

Organic chain plans to open new location in Prince William Square.

A new organic food store will open its doors this fall in Prince William Square in Woodbridge, according to the shopping center’s owner.

MOM’s Organic Market, a small grocery chain based in Rockville, Md., will open a new location in a 12,000-square-foot space in Prince William Square, across from Potomac Mills mall on Smoketown Road, according to Rosenthal Properties, which owns the shopping center. It will be the chain’s fourth location in Virginia and first in Prince William County.

MOM’s Organic Market has locations in Herndon, Alexandria and Merrifield, and plans are in the works for a new store in Arlington, the Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday. The Woodbridge store will open in September.

The chain also has seven stores in Maryland, one in Washington, D.C., and one in suburban Philadelphia. The chain plans to open its first store in Baltimore this fall and a store in downtown Philadelphia next year, the Journal said.

Founded in 1987 as a delivery service, MOM’s Organic Market says its purpose is to protect and restore the environment by promoting organic food, buying local produce whenever possible and supporting green businesses. Find out more about the company by clicking here.
