Mother Dies, Child Uninjured In Lake Ridge Crash: Police
A driver died of her injuries days after a crash in Lake Ridge, while a child in the car was uninjured.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A driver died in a Lake Ridge crash on Monday, while a child passenger was uninjured, Prince William County Police say.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 8:24 a.m. in the area of Old Bridge Road and Oakwood Drive in Lake Ridge. According to police, the 2013 Nissan Juke was heading east on Old Bridge Road just after the Oakwood Drive intersection when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto the roof.
Bystanders helped the driver out of the car and provided aid until fire and rescue arrived. The driver was taken to the hospital and died on Wednesday. A 7-year-old child in the vehicle was uninjured. Both were wearing seat belts.

The driver was identified as Demetria Yvette Lee, 39, of Woodbridge. A social media profile for Lee indicates she was an autism teacher and mother who had a 7-year-old son.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
