Police: Alexandria Man Shot in Drug Buy Gone Bad
Prince William County police arrest suspect Wednesday at workplace.

Prince William County police arrested a Woodbridge man Wednesday on charges that he shot an Alexandria man on Tuesday evening during a drug buy.
Antwain Jaquez Morehead, 27 (in photo above), of the 4500 block of Kendall Drive, is charged with malicious wounding, robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony, according to a police report. He’s being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas Adult detention center, and a court date is pending.

Prince William police detectives were working to identify a second man involved in Tuesday’s incident, the report said. Police responded at 6:06 p.m. to the 13100 block of Hillendale Drive in Woodbridge to investigate the shooting.

The victim, a 19-year-old man from Alexandria, told police that he made arrangements to purchase marijuana from a man later identified as Morehead. He was accompanied by another man who was not known to victim.
During the encounter, the victim’s phone was taken, according to the police report. When the victim attempted to get his phone back, he was shot by one of the men. After the shooting, the suspects fled in a vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper body. Morehead was located and arrested without incident Wednesday at his place of employment, police said.
