Police Arrest 19-Year-Old For 4 Armed Robberies in Dumfries Area

Two of the four armed robberies in December occurred at a Boost Mobile store in a Dumfries shopping center.

DUMFRIES, VA — The Prince William County Police Department arrested a 19-year-old on Wednesday in connection to four armed robberies of businesses in the Dumfries area between Dec. 1 and Dec. 17. With the assistance of the Dumfries Police Department, Dalonta Dejon Gay, a resident of Dumfries, was taken into custody.

The armed robberies occurred at the the Pizza Hut at 17982 Main St., the 7-Eleven at 18075 Fraley Blvd., and the Boost Mobile store at 18069 Triangle Shopping Plaza. Two armed robberies occurred at the Boost Mobile store: on Dec. 13 and Dec. 17. In each incident at Boost Mobile, Gay allegedly took money from the store before fleeing on foot.

On Dec. 2 at 10:31 p.m., Prince William County Police Department officers responded to the 7-Eleven where Gay allegedly entered the store wearing a mask. During an encounter with the store clerk, Gay allegedly brandished a weapon and demanded money. He took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot, the police said.

A day earlier, on Dec. 1 at 10:23 p.m., Gay allegedly entered the Pizza Hut wearing a mask. During the encounter, Gay implied he was armed and demanded money, the police said. Gay allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.

No physical injuries were reported in any of the robberies.

The police charged Gay with four counts of robbery and four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a robbery. He is being held in jail, with a court date set for Feb. 10.
