Prince William County Police on Tuesday identified the driver in the weekend crash on Interstate 95 as a 41-year-old Woodbridge man.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Virginia State Police have identified the motorcycle driver who died following a two-vehicle crash that occurred on a Prince William County interstate over the weekend. Daniel E. Pittman, 41, of Woodbridge, died at the scene of the accident on Interstate 95, police said. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash occurred just after 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1. According to police, witnesses reported seeing Pittman traveling southbound on the interstate and weaving in and out of traffic on a Suzuki motorcycle before colliding with a BMW sedan.

The impact of the crash ejected Pittman from the motorcycle, police said. The 39-year-old female driver of the BMW, also of Woodbridge, and her passenger were not injured.
