Police: Woman Interrupts Burglary in Progress
Ashburn man arrested near scene of crime, say Prince William County police.

A Woodbridge woman came home early Sunday morning and discovered a thief in her bathroom, according to the Prince William County police.

At 5:30 a.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge to investigate a burglary in progress, a police report said. The caller, a resident of the apartment, told police that after she encountered the suspect, he fled on foot with property belonging to her.
One of the officers spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description in the area of York Drive and Mathews Drive. The police arrested Mauricio Alejandro Escobar, 20, of 43837 Dodge Terrace, Apt. #102 in Ashburn, and charged him with burglary and grand larceny.

Escobar is being held without bond in the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, and his next date in court is June 24.
