Police: Woodbridge Man Shot While Trying To Stop Argument
Suspect wanted for malicious wounding, other charges: Prince William County police.

The Prince William County police are searching for a convicted felon who shot another man who tried to intervene in an argument early Sunday between the suspect and an unidentified woman.

Jesse Rene Najera, 30, of the 15200 block of Crescent Street in Dale City, is wanted for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to a police report.
He’s described by police as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, with a medium build, short black hair and numerous tattoos on his neck and arms. Anyone with information on Najera’s whereabouts is asked to contact Prince William County police at 703-792-6500.

Police responded at 2:01 a.m. Sunday to the 15200 block of Crescent Street to investigate the shooting, the police report said. They found out that Najera was involved in an altercation with a woman inside a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the area.
A 20-year-old Woodbridge man and a few of his friends were walking by when they witnessed the incident, police said. The Woodbridge man attempted to intervene, but Najera confronted him, displayed a handgun and shot him in the arm and leg before fleeing the area.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said. The victim and Najera did not know each other, but other witnesses were able to identify the suspect to police.
