Police: Woodbridge Man Stabbed During Late-Night Argument

Woman charged with malicious wounding, say Prince William County police.

A Woodbridge woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen early Thursday during an argment.

Neli Bersali Pacheco-Zevala, 32, of the 1400 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge, has been charged with malicious wounding, according to the Prince William County police. She’s being held without bond in the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, and her next date in court is scheduled for June 15.

Police responded at 2:24 a.m. Thursday to Pacheco-Zevala’s apartment to investigate the stabbing. They found out that the victim, a 28-year-old man, and Pacheco-Zevala, an acquaintance, had been involved in a shouting match that escalated.

During the argument, Pacheco-Zevala stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a kitchen knife, the police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Pacheco-Zevala was arrested without incident.
