Robbers Flee After Attempted Stick-up

Prince William County police looking for pair of suspects in apartment incident.

Prince William County police are searching for two suspects in an attempted armed robbery Monday night in Woodbridge.

At 9:05 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge to a report of an attempted robbery, according to a police statement.

The victim, a 26-year-old male from Woodbridge, said he was walking along Mount Pleasant Drive when he was passed by two other men who then turned and began following him.

As he approached Bayside Avenue, the two men confronted him and demanded his wallet. The robbery was interrupted when another person exited his apartment nearby and frightened the suspects away. The victim received a small cut to his chin, but did not require medical attention, police said.

Police described the two suspects:

  • A black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a full black ski mask, black jacket, camo pants and displaying a small black pistol.
  • A black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium to heavy build, wearing a full black ski mask, black jacket and blue jeans.
