Robbery Suspect Appears Again At Woodbridge Sunoco, Gets Arrested
The Prince William County police arrested a man after a Woodbridge convenience store clerk recognized him as the store's alleged robber.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — An employee at a Sunoco convenience store in Woodbridge called the police Tuesday afternoon after noticing a man outside the store who allegedly matched the description of the person who robbed the store on Jan. 27. The Prince William County Police Department arrived at the Sunoco at 3220 Old Bridge Rd. and arrested the man without incident.
Police charged Alexander Mark McGinnis, 26, with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. McGinnis, a Woodbridge resident, is being held in the Prince William County jail without bond.
Detectives with the police department's robbery unit were able to link McGinnis to the robbery that was reported on Jan. 27. During that robbery, a man wearing a dark face mask implied he was armed and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot before the police arrived at the business. No injuries were reported.

A similar incident took place at the same Sunoco station store on Jan. 29, but the police have yet to link McGinnis to that robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown masked man entered the store and approached the counter. During the Jan. 29 incident, the suspect demanded money from the cash register before fleeing on foot.
Detectives are looking into whether McGinnis is responsible for the Jan. 29 incident as well, a police department spokeswoman said.

McGinnis did not have his face covered by a face mask on Tuesday when the officers detained him. "He was wearing similar enough clothing that the employee felt he matched the description of the suspect from previous incidents," the spokeswoman said.
