Update: 4 Injured, 1 Dead After Dumfries Shooting: Police
Four people were seriously hurt and 1 person was killed in a Dumfries shooting on Wednesday. Police have detained a person of interest.

DUMFRIES, VA — Five people were injured in a shooting in Dumfries on Wednesday morning, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
One person died in the shooting. The four other victims were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries, police said.

The police department said a person of interest has been detained in connection with the shooting.
Police officials have not provided names, genders, or ages for any of the people involved.

The shooting occurred at a home in the 17900 block of Milroy Drive around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
"At this time, the incident appears to be isolated to the residence," the police department said in a release. "There is no ongoing threat to the community."
