Shooting Suspects Sought In Woodbridge: Police

A 24-year-old man was shot in the upper body at an apartment complex in Woodbridge on Thursday night. Now, police are looking for suspects.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man was shot outside the Riverside Station Apartment Complex in Woodbridge on Thursday night, according to the Prince William County Police Department. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and police are looking for suspects.

Officers responded to the apartment complex in the 14000 block of Big Crest Lane in Woodbridge at 10:43 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2. They originally received a report of a fight, but as they arrived on the scene, the officers learned that shots had been fired, according to the police report.

"When officers arrived in the area, they located a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body," the police department said. "Officers rendered immediate first aid to the man before rescue personnel arrived and transported him to an area hospital for further treatment."

The police department believes that the victim's injuries are not life-threatening.

Authorities believe that there was a fight in the apartment complex's parking lot before the shooting. At some point, shots were fired and the group dispersed, according to police.

A police K-9 searched the area for people who may have been involved in the shooting on Thursday night. The police department did not say whether any witnesses were located.

Officers believe that the incident was not random. No suspects were immediately identified, and the police department did not have a description of the suspect available.
