Florida Sends Trucks, Funny Message To Help Dig Out D.C.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced that a fleet of 15 dump trucks is heading to the D.C. region to assist with cleanup efforts after more than 2 feet of snow accumulated in some areas.
Just to remind folks in the D.C. area how nice Florida is this time of year posters have been affixed to the backs of the trucks. They feature a happy hitchhiking snowman with its thumb held high. The little guy is also holding a sign that reads “Florida Bound.” >>>read more.

Blizzard Cost Metro DC Area at Least $250 Million: Report
Although grocery stores, hardware stores and snowplow contractors likely did gangbusters business during the historic blizzard that hit over the weekend, the overall DC metro economy took a hit in the hundreds of millions of dollars, experts tell Washington Business Journal.
The area was hit with about 2 feet of snow, a year’s worth, over the weekend. The average at Dulles Washington International Airport is 20.1 inches, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority reported in E-Bird. >>>read more.
