Suspect Identified in Robbery Near Commuter Lot
Woodbridge heist occurred in broad daylight, say Prince William County police.

The Prince William County police announced Wednesday that they have identified the suspect in a daylight robbery that occurred in the vicinity of a commuter lot in Woodbridge.

Wanted for robbery is Laron Rasheed Thomas (in photo), 22, of no fixed address, according to a police report. He’s described as a black male, 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Thomas is known to the victim, the police said. They responded to the report of the strong-armed robbery at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 14700 block of Potomac Mills Road, near the headquarters of the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission.

The victim, a 31-year-old man of no fixed address, told police that he was approached by Thomas, who asked him for money. As the victim reached for his wallet, The suspect assaulted him and forcibly took the wallet from the victim’s hands.
The suspect immediately fled on foot, police said. The victim tried to chase him, but lost sight of him. During the chase, the suspect dropped the wallet.
The victim told police that money inside was missing, and that he sustained minor injuries.
