Victim Identified In Fatal Dumfries Shooting: Police

Police said a 37-year-old Dumfries man died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

DUMFRIES, VA — The Prince William County Police Department has identified the male victim in a fatal shooting in Dumfries early Tuesday morning. Police said Antonio Kaoul Smith, 37, of Dumfries died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

At about 3:51 a.m., police were called to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive in Dumfries. When they arrived on scene, they found Smith in the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds. Smith was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Detectives from the Prince William County Homicide Unit are currently investigating what led up to the shooting, though police said it doesn't appear to be random. No arrests have been made.
