Prince William County Rapist Was Alexandria Cop: Police UPDATE

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man arrested Friday for terrorizing, assaulting and raping a female acquaintance over several months at a Woodbridge residence has been an Alexandria police officer for nearly four years, according to Prince William County Police.

Khurram Abbas Chaudhary, 31, of Woodbridge, was charged with rape, malicious wounding by caustic substance and domestic assault & battery.

After his arrest, he has placed on leave without pay by Alexandria Police.

PWC Police began investigating the incidents Friday, said by the 30-year-old victim to have occurred between June 2017 and this past January. Among the allegations:

• During an argument, he threw a caustic substance on her, causing a burning sensation to her face, hands and feet.
• She was pushed and had a knife pressed to her back.
• She was raped.

"The things he was investigated for happened in Prince William County," Alexandria Police spokesperson Crystal Nosal told Patch on Tuesday.

Alexandria Police had been investigating a separate internal complaint against Chaudhary last week when the domestic violence allegations came to light. The department contacted Prince William County Police to conduct a criminal investigation with Alexandria detectives.

Nosal could not comment on the specific details of the internal complaint in the Alexandria Police Department.

"Ours is ongoing at this point to determine if anything illegal happened in the City of Alexandria," she said.

Chaudhary is being held without bond. A court date has not been set.
