Woodbridge Man in Jail for Fighting With Police

He's charged with resisting arrest, petty larceny, say Prince William County police.

A Woodbridge man is behind bars after police arrested him last week in the midst of an alleged theft at a local grocery store.

Tyrik Bernard Randall, 18, of 14115 Cove Landing Drive, was charged May 12 with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, petty larceny and intoxication in public, according to the Prince William County police. Randall is beng held without bond in the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, and his next date in court is pending.

Randall was arrested after police officers responded at 8:53 p.m. May 12 to the Food Lion at 14641 Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) in Woodbridge to investigate a larceny in progress. They located Randall, who attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained, according to a police report.

Once he was detained, Randall actively resisted and kicked an officer in the leg, police said. Randall sustained minor injuries, and he was arrested without further incident.
