Woodbridge Woman Indicted On Manslaughter Charge In Fatal Crash
A 19-year-old Woodbridge woman involved in a May 1 crash on Cardinal Drive was indicted by a grand jury of involuntary manslaughter.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 19-year-old Woodbridge woman involved in a May 1 crash on Cardinal Drive was indicted by a grand jury last week of involuntary manslaughter and other charges, according to the commonwealth's attorney office. The indictments cover charges in connection with the death of a woman who was walking her dog on a sidewalk.
The Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney office announced Monday the indictments against Cierra Dickerson. An involuntary manslaughter charge carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Dickerson was also indicted on one count of "racing involving death," which carries a potential sentence of one to 20 years in prison, according to the July 6 indictment.
Prince William County Police Department officers responded to a call at around 2:25 p.m. May 1 to the area of Cardinal Drive and Swan Way to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The police determined that the driver of a 2007 Lexus IS 250 was traveling eastbound on Cardinal Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pedestrian. Dickerson, the driver of the vehicle, remained on the scene.
