• Fifth suspect arrested in Chelan Hills Fire investigation (lakechelanmirror.com) — Residents near Chelan are seeing progress in the Chelan Hills Fire investigation, with a fifth suspect now in custody and one person still at large. Authorities say fireworks from a moving truck sparked the July 4 blaze, which killed an Orondo man, injured six firefighters, and destroyed more than 100 structures across over 10,000 acres.
   

• Delays, Detours For Drivers On Chumstick Hwy Until Mid-October (kpq.com) — Drivers from Chelan heading toward Lake Wenatchee or Leavenworth via Chumstick Highway should plan for significant delays and detours starting today. WSDOT is repaving and repairing a 19‑mile stretch, including a full closure at Beaver Valley Road, after last winter's storm damage, with work expected to continue until mid‑October.
   

• WA wildfire home damage totals at least $188M, Ferguson says (cashmerevalleyrecord.com) — Chelan-area residents could see more recovery help as Gov. Bob Ferguson seeks a major federal disaster declaration that includes Chelan County and the deadly Chelan Hills Fire. The request covers hundreds of millions in wildfire damage statewide and could fund debris removal, emergency work reimbursement, and rebuilding support for affected communities over the coming months.
