📰 News we're reading
• Fife megawarehouse sells for more than $100M. Here are the details (thenewstribune.com) — A massive 501,000-square-foot warehouse property in Fife just sold for more than $108 million, far above its assessed value, signaling strong demand for local industrial space. The Pacific Coast Corporate Park II site on 70th Avenue East, home to Mercer Distribution & Transport, is part of a wave of big-ticket logistics and distribution deals reshaping Pierce County's commercial landscape.
• Caught on camera: The debate over Flock Safety hits the streets of Pierce County (thenewstribune.com) — Police use of Flock Safety license-plate cameras is sparking a heated debate in Pierce County, with Puyallup at the center and nearby cities like Fife relying on separate traffic-camera systems. Supporters say the technology helps catch suspects and find missing people, while critics worry about mass surveillance, transparency, and how long vehicle data is stored and shared.
• Griffin named stalking horse bidder for BFG Supply assets (gpnmag.com) — A major horticultural distributor, Griffin Greenhouse Supplies, is the lead bidder to acquire assets from BFG Supply and is closely evaluating several warehouses, including a facility in Fife. If the deal proceeds, Griffin could integrate the Fife operation into its national network and add dozens of jobs overall, potentially influencing how greenhouse and garden products move through the region.
