School Board Candidate Gives Away Playdough, Hosts Activities for Young Children

Gig Harbor, Washington - Noelle Balliett, a candidate for the Peninsula School Board (Position 5), was excited to engage with community members of all ages at the eighth annual Scarecrow Festival, held on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Sehmel Homestead Park in Gig Harbor.

At the event, Balliett gave away more than 500 containers of homemade playdough, which she and her family had prepared beforehand, in a variety of colors and scents.

“It was great to see so many familiar faces and get a chance to talk with parents as well as children,”

Balliett said afterward. “Events like Scarecrow Festival are a terrific way to bring the community together, have fun, and celebrate the fall season.”

Balliett’s booth featured a range of children’s activities, including a playdough area, a coloring table, and a spray bottle art station, where kids used markers to draw pictures on coffee filters, then sprayed the filters with water to create different effects.
