• Road closures planned as Leavenworth Marathon returns Oct. 3 (leavenworthecho.com) — Expect major traffic changes in Leavenworth this Saturday as the Leavenworth Marathon and Half Marathon close parts of East Leavenworth Road, Enchantment Park Way, and key downtown trails through early afternoon. Drivers on US‑2 near town should plan for delays, while residents and visitors will see heavy runner traffic around Enchantment Park, Waterfront Park, and nearby streets until about 1 p.m. 
• Forest Service fall prescribed burns could bring smoke to Wenatchee Valley, Leavenworth, Manson (leavenworthecho.com) — Residents in Leavenworth should be prepared for periods of visible smoke this fall as the Okanogan‑Wenatchee National Forest conducts prescribed burns across nearby ranger districts. Crews may burn into winter when conditions allow, with projects north and west of town designed to reduce wildfire risk while meeting strict safety and air‑quality standards coordinated with state agencies.
