• Man dies after crash on Snohomish County lake (heraldnet.com) — Marysville Fire crews were among the first responders after a man on a personal watercraft fatally crashed into a private dock on Lake Goodwin in northwest Snohomish County. Neighbors pulled the victim from the water and Marysville firefighters performed CPR, but he died at the scene. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner and sheriff's Marine Service Unit are investigating.
   

• Western Washington cities, counties receive federal crime-fighting grants (thereflector.com) — Marysville is in line for a share of new federal Byrne crime-fighting grants awarded across Western Washington. While exact local amounts aren't detailed, the funding will support tools like forensic equipment, drones, emergency medical supplies, and technology upgrades. Neighboring cities and counties, including Everett and Snohomish County, are also receiving money aimed at improving community safety.
