Chain Snatcher Strikes In Redmond, Continuing Pattern Of Crimes

A woman was robbed of a necklace at a bus stop in Redmond. Police said the crime is similar to other local chain snatchings.

REDMOND, WA - A robber ripped a necklace off of a woman who was waiting at a Redmond bus stop last week, and police are saying the crime is similar to ones that happened last summer in Redmond and Bellevue.

The robbery happened last Thursday afternoon at a bus stop along the 4800 block of 156th Avenue Northeast. The woman was talking on her cell phone, and apparently didn't notice the man approaching.

The robber slapped the phone out of the woman's hand, and then kicked her when she bent down to retrieve it, police said. That's when he reached down and snatched her gold necklace.
