Gene Coulon Beach Closed Due To High Bacteria Levels
City officials said the swim beach at Gene Coulon Park would remain closed through at least Wednesday, Aug. 5.
RENTON, WA — The swimming area at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park closed Thursday due to high bacteria levels found in the water, according to city officials. The closure is expected to last through at least Wednesday, Aug. 5.
During the closure, people and pets should not swim or wade in the water, drink the water or otherwise have any contact with the lake in the area.
The closure at Gene Coulon joins four other beaches located on the shores of Lake Washington with high bacteria levels found recently: Madrona Beach, Matthews Beach, Mount Baker Beach and Newcastle Beach.
