• King County buys asphalt plant site with plans for a new park (seattletimes.com) — Neighbors just outside Renton helped push King County to buy a former proposed asphalt plant site along the Cedar River and instead plan a new park. The county paid $14 million for the 25-acre parcel and will now seek community input on trails, river access, parking, and how active or quiet this new open space should be.
