AUBURN, WA — King County Public Health recently shut down a Dave & Buster's arcade in Auburn after a norovirus-like illness sickened 12 employees and patrons.

The outbreak was first reported to the county on April 5 after five people from the same dining party reported symptoms like vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea. That dining party ate at the Dave & Buster's on March 31, according to King County.

Another seven employees from the restaurant have also reportedly been sickened. One of those employees worked while sick.

When health inspectors visited the restaurant, they found that customers had been vomiting in the children's play area and in the restroom. The cleaning solution being used to clean up the mess was not strong enough to kill norovirus, the county reported.

The restaurant was shut down over the weekend for a deep-clean. After a third inspection on Monday, the Dave & Buster's reopened at 5 p.m.
