Renton 2019 Election: O’Halloran Running To Replace Don Persson

Valerie O'Halloran will seek to replace longtime Councilman Don Persson in 2019.

RENTON, WA - Valerie O’Halloran, a Renton Regional Community Foundation board member, will run to replace longtime Renton Councilman Don Persson in 2019. She says she'll focus on "improving our transportation systems and infrastructure" and "increasing housing options."

Persson has served in the Position 7 spot on Council for 20 years, four of those as Council president. Persson confirmed on Monday that he's not running for another term in 2019.

"I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals, organizations, and businesses achieve financial success and stability," O’Halloran said in a press release. "I’m excited to bring my team-oriented expertise in systems and process improvement to the City Council to help ensure Renton remains a wonderful place to live, work, play, and learn."
