Suspect In Renton Bus Shooting Felt Threatened: Documents

The suspect is being held on $5 million bail.

RENTON, WA - A 21-year-old man accused of shooting and killing another man aboard a Metro bus on Tuesday night is being held on $5 million bail and was charged with murder on Friday, according to reports.

The man, 21, told police that he felt that the victim might threaten him. The victim in the shooting, a 27-year-old man, died Thursday morning at Harborview Medical Center, the King County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday along Talbot Road South near 21st Street South aboard the 169 bus. After shooting the passenger, the suspect pointed a gun at the bus driver, forcing him to stop the bus. The suspect fled the scene, but Renton Police tracked him down and took him into custody.
