Indoor scootpark gives kids a place to ride even in the rain.

New scootpark is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

The sport of stunt scooting has taken the Puget Sound region by storm, even overtaking skateboarding according to Gabe Smith of Xtreme Amateur Games. Visit any local skatepark and you’ll see them – dozens of kids hucking tricks on scooters. It’s become an x-sport in its own rite as kids flip and whip and defy gravity, but it’s a sport that’s easy enough for even the youngest riders to jump into.

The problem? You can’t scoot when it’s wet outside. That’s a sure fire way to rust your bearings and take a fall due to slick surfaces. There are indoor skateparks in the area but most do not allow scooters. But now there is an indoor scootpark! Located off Willows Rd in Redmond, Pacific Scooter Experience opened in December exclusively for the scooter community.

PSX offers lessons, parties, even summer camps. It’s a great place to let the kids ride, practice, and hang out in a safe and fun environment. It was built by the scooter community, is completely volunteer run and operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
