1. SkyNRG selects Technip Energies, Sasol and Topsoe for Project Wigeon FEED (gasprocessingnews.com) — A major sustainable aviation fuel plant, Project Wigeon, is planned for the Port of Walla Walla, with SkyNRG choosing Technip Energies, Sasol and Topsoe to lead key engineering work. Designed to start up around 2031, the facility would turn renewable natural gas into 50 million gallons of SAF annually, potentially bringing significant investment and jobs to the area.
   

2. Walla Walla affordable housing project breaks ground Oct. 2 (nbcrightnow.com) — A Walla Walla nonprofit is breaking ground Friday, Oct. 2, on seven new affordable homes on Fern Avenue, opening a rare path to ownership for local first-time buyers. Common Roots Housing Trust says construction should wrap in about nine months, with income-limited applications expected in early 2027 and an October 15 information session at Pioneer United Methodist Church.
   

3. Fast Eddy's Drive-In sold after 25+ years in Walla Walla (elkhornmediagroup.com) — A longtime Walla Walla favorite, Fast Eddy's Drive-In on West Main Street, has been sold after more than 25 years under the Edwards family. Current owners say this Thursday will be their final day running the 1960s-style burger and shake spot, and they're thanking generations of loyal local customers for their support.
   

4. Walla Walla man arrested in dual tool burglaries (elkhornmediagroup.com) — A 43-year-old Walla Walla man was arrested after police linked him to tool thefts from a Pleasant Street home and a Fern Avenue church, recovering most of the stolen property. He's being held in Walla Walla County Jail, with bail set at $10,000 and a formal arraignment scheduled Thursday morning in Superior Court.
   

5.
