• Barboursville police ask for public assistance in vehicle theft investigation (wchstv.com) — Barboursville police are asking residents to help locate a silver Kia Sportage, license plate DYD247, stolen after keys were taken from a woman’s purse at Help For Animals in Cabell County. Investigators say the suspect was seen walking along U.S. 60 before the theft, and anyone with information is urged to call Barboursville officers at 304-736-5203, ext. 414. 
• Barboursville man pleads guilty to failing to maintain sex offender registration (wchstv.com) — A Barboursville man has pleaded guilty in federal court to failing to keep his sex offender registration current after changing jobs, according to prosecutors. Authorities say the offense occurred earlier this year, and sentencing is scheduled for November, with the defendant facing up to 10 years in prison, supervised release, and a substantial possible fine.
• Cabell County completes final phase of $4.5M emergency communications upgrade (wowktv.com) — Emergency responders in Barboursville and across Cabell County now share a new $4.5 million digital radio system designed to improve coverage and safety, funded entirely by ARPA dollars. Barboursville’s volunteer fire chief says the changeover should fix past dead zones and separate dispatch from on-scene channels, helping firefighters communicate more clearly during both routine calls and major incidents.
