Today's riddle: What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Wayne swears in Cass McMillian as new police chief (wchstv.com) — Barboursville gets a mention as part of the long resume of Cass McMillian, who was just sworn in as the new police chief in nearby Wayne. With more than 30 years in law enforcement, including work with Barboursville and other agencies, he’s stepping in after the previous chief’s termination and a broader staffing shakeup by Wayne’s mayor.

• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers names vessel after living retiree, making district history (wowktv.com) — A longtime Barboursville resident, Tom Plumley, has become the first living person in the Huntington district to have a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers survey vessel named in his honor. The newly christened boat, which he helped rebuild, now works the Kanawha River near the Winfield Locks and Dam, celebrating his decades of service on inland waterways and his 20-year military career.
