• Advantage Valley's Expanding Markets program gets new boost (wchsnetwork.com) — Charleston-area manufacturers are getting a major boost as Advantage Valley secures a new $2 million federal POWER grant to expand its Expanding Markets program. Local firms like Industrial Bolting Technologies and multiple county development authorities will receive targeted support to find new customers, grow exports, and create hundreds of projected jobs across the Charleston–Huntington corridor.
   

• Fire rips through boarded-up West Side home, threatens nearby church property (wchstv.com) — A recent arson fire destroyed an abandoned house on Charleston's West Side and caused about $10,000 in damage to the neighboring Canaan United Methodist Church, though the building was spared more serious harm.
