• Bluefield Virginia Police request public assistance for Montrose shooting investigation (wvva.com) — Bluefield police are asking residents for tips after a 43-year-old Montrose Street resident was shot inside their home when a single bullet entered from outside. The victim is expected to recover, but investigators still don’t know if the house was targeted or hit by a stray round. Anyone who saw or heard anything around 8:49 p.m. on July 31 is urged to contact Detective Sergeant C. McCroskey.
