• FERC gives Lake Lynn Generation its OK for beach closure, dismisses Save Cheat Lake allegations (dominionpost.com) — Milestone Point Beach at Cheat Lake Park will stay closed for the rest of the 2026 season while Lake Lynn Generation works toward installing a new water main and restoring potable water. Federal regulators say the company is complying with its license and recreation plan, rejecting a local group's call for penalties but requiring progress updates on the water project and beach reopening timeline.
   

• PHOTOS: Commercial vehicle fire shuts down I-68 westbound lanes (wboy.com) — A commercial vehicle fire on I-68 near Cheat Lake shut down westbound lanes Tuesday evening, backing up traffic across the Cheat Lake Bridge but causing no injuries, officials said. Local fire departments and the sheriff's office managed the scene for several hours before partially reopening the highway and urging drivers to use extra caution through the area.
