Seibert retires from Mountain Memories Assisted Living (theintermountain.com) — A longtime fixture at Elkins’ Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center, Richard Seibert has retired after 32 years overseeing maintenance and environmental services. The locally connected facility, now operated by Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center, credits him with helping guide it through ownership changes and a major remodel. Seibert plans to spend more time on his farm and traveling with his wife.

Barbour man facing multiple felonies (theintermountain.com) — Police in Elkins report that a Barbour County man faces multiple felony charges after an incident that began on US 219 and continued into the Elkins Walmart parking lot. Troopers say the driver allegedly fled, grabbed for an officer’s holstered gun, showed signs of intoxication, and later threatened an EMT. He was taken to the Elkins State Police detachment for a breath test.
