West Virginia man dies after motorcycle crash (heraldmailmedia.com) ā A motorcyclist from Paw Paw died after crashing into a guardrail on Hedgesville Road just north of Martinsburg on Saturday night, according to Berkeley County authorities. Deputies say speed likely caused the rider to lose control before the collision, and the man was later pronounced dead at Berkeley Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.

2. Multi-state drug trafficking investigation results in guilty plea in West Virginia (wtrf.com) ā A multi-state drug investigation based out of Martinsburg has led to a guilty plea from a Maryland man tied to cocaine and fentanyl distribution in Berkeley County. Court documents describe drugs, cash, and stolen vehicles seized across West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Sentencing will be set later in federal court in Martinsburg.

JKES taps next principal (winchesterstar.com) ā Martinsburgās North Middle School principal Kevin Pittsnogle has been named the next principal of John Kerr Elementary School in Winchester, after leading North Middle out of state emergency and CSI status in just one year. The former Martinsburg High and WVU basketball standout brings a strong track record in school improvement, special education, and relationship-focused leadership to his new role.

WVU Medicine eyes affiliation with ailing south-central Pennsylvania hospital (mahoningmatters.com) ā WVU Medicineās growing role in Martinsburgās health care network is highlighted as it plans a $200 million patient tower at Berkeley Medical Center while also pursuing an affiliation with Fulton County Medical Center in southācentral Pennsylvania. The deal would expand WVU Medicineās rural reach and could strengthen regional access to specialized care for patients who now often travel to Martinsburg.
