• Submissions open for annual cookbook contest (mariettatimes.com) — Home cooks in Parkersburg and nearby communities are invited to enter the News and Sentinel and Marietta Times holiday cookbook contest, built around a Fall Foodies theme. You can submit up to 15 recipes by Oct. 2, with finalists presenting dishes at an Oct. 21 tasting party at Artsbridge on Seventh Street and winners featured in the November cookbook.
