• Capito Announces Fall 2026 Academy Days (senate.gov) — Students and families in South Charleston can meet U.S. service academy and ROTC representatives at an Academy Day hosted by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2–4 p.m., at South Charleston High School. Attendees can learn about fully funded academy educations, scholarship options, and the nomination process directly from admissions and staff.
   

• WVUP and BridgeValley partner to expand manufacturing education (newsandsentinel.com) — BridgeValley’s South Charleston campus will help lead a nearly $2 million ARC-funded effort to expand advanced manufacturing education across 11 West Virginia counties. The three-year project will modernize equipment, open training labs, and connect local students, workers, and employers with in-demand manufacturing skills and credentials close to home.
   

• Volleyball Recap: George Washington Beats Capital for Their Fifth Straight Victory (maxpreps.com) — George Washington’s volleyball team extended its win streak to five by sweeping Capital, and now both squads are preparing to face South Charleston next. The Cougars visit the Black Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the Patriots at 8:30 p.m., giving local fans a full evening of home-court action.
