Are You Ready to Rumble, Greendale?
If you haven't done so already, you better clear your social calendar for tonight's Greendale Varsity Football game!

It's finally here, fellow Greendalers!
If you aren't sure what IT is, take a drive through the village about 6:30 p.m. this evening. When you start to notice that there are fewer people than usual out and about - especially since Broad Street is generally a hoppin' place to be on Friday nights - take a drive south.
South that is, to the southern end of Broad Steet.

That my friends, is where the action is going to be tonight. Anybody who's anybody will be there.
Yep, it's the first big social event of the season. The 'Boys of Fall' (a.k.a. ) will be there in all their glory, ready to take on those pesky Sabers from yonder down 51st Street, in the season opener at .

What is it about Friday Night Lights in a small town like ours? I guess it's the sense of community... like I said it is the 'place to be.' Fans young and old will be there, wearing their team colors. Just a word of advice... stay out of the section with the black and gold.
Small town folk all around Wisconsin will be rallying around their teams starting tonight. The scuttlebutt at the last school board meeting is that the WIAA has moved up the start of the high school football season so the players (and us fans) have a better chance of not sitting in the stands during a snowstorm come playoff time.
I'm all for that, as I imagine a lot of you are too. I'd much rather wear shorts and a tee than a parka and flannel-lined jeans to the games, although I'm sure there will be a few of those opportunities anyway, toward the end of the season.
Of course, there's bound to be nearly as much action off the field as there is on it.
award-winning , and the will be there... plus all the usual social catching-up going on in the stands. After all, we generally don't get this kind of opportunity to talk to some of our fellow Bubble-ites until the actual start of the school year.
If you need a further example of this, just look beyond the north end zone... to the section. (Word to the wise - this is another spot to avoid unless you happen to be between the ages of 11 and 13, OR you are a member of the GMS staff).
So, if you haven't gotten your Greendale gear yet, I hear '' on Parking Street in the village is open today until 5 p.m. today, plenty of time to stop in before kick-off.
So get ready to shake your pom-poms Greendale - Like they say 'be there or be square!'
