Greendale Summer School Musical Theater Students Worked Hard

Local young actors and actresses performed at two free performances... WITH air conditioning!

Greendale summer school students presented two free shows to the public this week as part of their 'Musical Theater Class.'

One of the shows is "Go West" was performed by 15 students in grades 4-6 this fall.

Musical Director Erica Wilkinson says, "'Go West' is a musical celebration of America's westward expansion by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson."

The show was performed on Tuesday, July 19 at 9 a.m. in the Greendale Middle School multi-purpose room (which is air-conditioned).

The second show was "The Nightingale," a musical by Andy Beck and Brian Fisher and is based on a Hans Christian Andersen tale. The storyline centers on a beautiful song bird and a Chinese emperor. Twenty students entering grades 7- 9 will perform the show, which lasts 45 minutes to one hour.

"The Nightingale" was performed on Tuesday, July 19 at Greendale Middle School.
