• Greenfield officials approve new hotel in 84 South shopping center (jsonline.com) — Greenfield's Common Council has approved a new Cobblestone Hotel and Suites for the 84 South shopping center, turning a vacant lot into a four‑story, 62‑room hotel with a pool, fitness area, and small bar. Planned for Sura Lane between the Aurora Medical Building and Steinhafels, the project adds parking, outdoor patio space, and another lodging option alongside the center's existing shops and restaurants.
   

• Wisconsin mayor seeks removal of police chief after city investigation found 'highly concerning actions' (wpr.org) — Greenfield residents should know their mayor has formally asked to remove Police Chief Jay Johnson, following a city investigation that found what officials call highly concerning behavior. Johnson faces multiple felony charges tied to alleged misuse of a department surveillance camera and destruction of evidence, while the Police and Fire Commission now weighs discipline and potential termination in a process separate from his ongoing criminal case.
   

• 16-year-old killed in Milwaukee shooting Saturday; suspect sought (fox6now.com) — A teenager was fatally shot Saturday afternoon near Layton and Greenfield, just north of Greenfield and on Milwaukee's south side, and police are still searching for suspects. Emergency crews arrived around 4:55 p.m., but the 16-year-old later died at a hospital. Anyone with information can contact Milwaukee police or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers or the P3 tips app.
