Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Be a friend and help guide a Milwaukee child, age 6-18, for two years. Contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at StartSomething@bbbsmilwaukee.org or (414) 831-4563.
  • Provide support and resources for callers dealing with domestic abuse and sexual violence by staffing 24 hour hotline and attend to needs shelter residents; training starts Sept. 21. Contact The Women's Center in Waukesha at rebekahm@twcwaukesha.org or 262-547-4600.
  • Assist in PE/Gym and Health class with middle school students at Milwaukee Academy Of Science; flexible weekday hours. Contact volunteercoordinator@MAScience.org or 414-933-0302.
  • Harvest food from Walnut Way Conservation Corp garden such as washing, weighing, prepping, and storing crops; Saturday mornings, August-October 27. Contact erica@walnutway.org or 414-264-2326.
  • Greet and register participants, hand out water, monitor route and more at Milwaukee County’s Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sunday, Sept. 16. Contact alporth@gmail.com or 414-520-8079.
  • Set up, serve food and beverages and help with children’s activities as Victory Garden Initiative celebrates a successful harvest Saturday, September 15. Contact eric@victorygardeninitiative.org or 414-431-0888.
