• Blue Door Academy expands before- and after-school care to 10 Wauwatosa schools (tmj4.com) — Families in Wauwatosa now have a new Milwaukee-connected option for before- and after-school care, as Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee's Blue Door Academy expands to 10 district schools starting Sept. 1. The program offers homework help, enrichment activities, and Junior Kindergarten wraparound care, with scholarships available so children aren't turned away for inability to pay.
   

• Juneau Park sword stolen decades ago to be replaced (wtmj.com) — A long-missing bronze sword from Juneau Park's "Spirit of Service" monument in downtown Milwaukee is finally set to be replaced for the statue's 100th anniversary. Juneau Park Friends plan to install a new sword and hold a public ceremony later this year, restoring a quirky piece of Milwaukee history and highlighting the park's civic heritage.
