(Milwaukee, Wis., September 27, 2021) – The Milwaukee Area Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) will host a Newcomers Virtual Workshop on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Attendees will learn more about the disease of compulsive eating, the promise of abstinence, and working the program for effective recovery.
This forum will be especially helpful for individuals who want to learn more about OA, and for newer members looking for additional support and insights. The workshop is open to new, prospective, and current members. There are no fees to attend, and participant anonymity is assured.
As part of the web- and phone-based workshop titled “The Disease of Compulsive Eating and the Promise of Abstinence,” attendees will have a chance to ask questions, engage in conversation, and identify local small group meetings. The October workshop is one of four quarterly newcomer workshops being held this year to introduce new and prospective members to the promise of abstinence, and to carry the message of recovery to those who still suffer.
