OA to Host Virtual Newcomers Workshop
Local Overeaters Anonymous group to hold virtual workshop on compulsive eating; Invites new and prospective members to attend

(Milwaukee, Wis., January 12, 2022) – The Milwaukee Area Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) – which serves members residing south to the state border and north to Green Bay and beyond – will hold a Virtual Newcomers Workshop on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Participants will learn more about OA’s program of recovery from eating disorders at the workshop which is open to new, prospective, and current members.
Participants will dive into the first three steps of the 12-Step program that is adapted for OA based on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. The forum will be especially helpful for individuals who want to learn more about OA, as they will have a chance to ask questions, engage in conversation, and identify local small group meetings. The workshop is one of three being held this year to introduce new and prospective members to the promise of abstinence, and to carry the message of recovery to those who still suffer. There are no fees to attend, and participant anonymity is assured.
The Virtual Newcomer Workshop will be held online via Zoom and is also available by telephone only. For more information about the event and details about the Zoom meeting credentials, please visit www.OAMilwaukee.org or contact the group by email at Newcomers@OAMilwaukee.org or call 414-259-0640.
