• Milwaukee Recreation to hold grand opening ceremony for newly renovated Metcalfe Playfield (milwaukeerecord.com) — Milwaukee residents are getting a fully revamped Metcalfe Playfield, with a new splash pad, lighted football field, modern playground, and upgraded fieldhouse ready to open on Thursday, Oct. 1. Guided by earlier neighborhood input, the renovation adds green infrastructure, native plantings, and repurposed historic granite pavers, and the public is invited to a grand reopening celebration that evening.
   

• Homes near Milwaukee's Lincoln Park evacuated due to damaged gas pipe (wisn.com) — Five homes near Milwaukee's Lincoln Park were evacuated Friday night after a construction crew struck a gas line near 20th Street and Hampton Avenue. Milwaukee fire and police directed residents to leave while We Energies crews stopped the leak; no one lost gas service and all affected homes were later inspected and declared safe.
   

• Post From Community: Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin celebrates 92 years (milwaukeenns.org) — Easterseals Southeast Wisconsin is marking 92 years of disability services with a rockabilly-themed gala, The Wild One, at the Harley-Davidson Museum's Garage in Milwaukee on Nov. 5. Funds from tickets and sponsorships will support local programs like guardianship, early childhood support, adult day services, recreation, camps and employment assistance for more than 1,500 individuals and families across southeast Wisconsin.
