Wisconsin Has 2,267 Coronavirus Cases, 68 Deaths

Twelve people died in Wisconsin due to complications from the new coronavirus between Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

MILWAUKEE, WI — There are now 2,267 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Wisconsin, the state health department announced Sunday. At least 68 Wisconsin residents have died due to complications from the virus.

The majority of Wisconsin's COVID-19-related deaths have come from people 70 and older. Nearly 20 percent of the state's COVID-19 deaths have come from residents who are 90 or older.

On Saturday, there were 2,112 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide and 56 deaths. That means a least 12 Wisconsin residents died from COVID-19 complications between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

At least 624 people have been hospitalized because of COVID-19. However, the state has had 25,169 negative tests for the virus.

Most confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin come from residents between the ages of 40 and 69, but deaths have tended to hit older age groups, according to the state health department's data.
